It’s a Truth Encounter

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Jn. 8:32

If I told you that one third of the ministry of Jesus is being omitted by most preachers what would you think. What if I said it like this, “only a little over half of what Jesus did in His ministry is being taught in the Christian church today.”  Does that alarm you?

Do you also know that, for the most part, this is what congregations want?  There are pastors who would like to preach and teach the other part of the gospel, the rest of the gospel, but they are harnessed by fear of losing members and causing division.

235 times the word ‘truth’ occurs in scripture.  Jesus called the Holy Spirit the “Spirit of Truth”.  He said this about Satan, “… He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.  Jesus proclaims that He is Truth and that God’s Word is Truth.  Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (Jn. 14:6) Look at the verses and how Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit He calls Him the Spirit of Truth.  “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but you know him; for he dwells with you and shall be in you”. (Jn. 14:1)

“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me.” (Jn. 15:6) However when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak; and He will show you things to come. (Jn. 16:13)

Our modern churches preach a lesser gospel and a lesser Jesus.  This ought not to be.   Have you ever given much thought as to why no one is comfortable when the subject of “demons” arises?  What’s the problem? Can you talk about it with your friends?  How about with your pastor or church leaders?  Since Jesus spent approximately one-third of His ministry dealing with demons why do we only talk about the other two-thirds?  Have you ever given this any thought?

DO WE REALLY WANT TRUTH?

The message from most pulpits does not include the message of healing and deliverance.  I earnestly believe that the Holy Spirit is grieved by this.  The hospitals have about as many Christians as non-Christians as patients. Broken marriages and broken families number about the same.  This ought not to be.  An incomplete gospel is largely to blame.  The Healing and Delivering Jesus is not presented.

I really find this incredibly hard to comprehend.  How can we not?  Do you know if I included only scripture that refers to demon spirits that there would be five pages like the one you have in your hands now.  I have seen, personally, about 25,000 Christians freed of “demonization”.  Believers, healed of demonic oppression.  The atoning work of Jesus included “deliverance to the captives…setting at liberty them that are bruised, healing the broken-hearted…recovering of sight”.   I “see” this happen, all the time.

I REALLY DO UNDERSTAND

Now, I understand why pastors, teachers, counselors…Christian leaders, give this information…I really do… that’s all they know to say.  That’s all they know to do…but it is not the way out of bondage.  His Name and His TRUTH are powerful even on video, I received this email from a 7 year old today.

“Hi Don,
My name is Archer, I am almost 8. I have been having nightmare since I was 2.  I have also been getting very angry.  My mom & dad have been reading your pig book and they have been praying with me.  We watched your YouTube video of the courtroom and your praying really helped me and my brother.  2 more times I’ve asked my mom if we can watch the pig praying guy.  I feel so happy and free!  Thank you.

POOR UNINTELLIGENT PEOPLE

Do you suppose Jesus was just speaking on the level of understanding of the poor unintelligent people of “His time”.  What a prideful assumption and insult to Jesus.  That the Creator of all things would deceive us into believing that demons existed only in the thinking of an unenlightened generation and then, when man would eventually get as smart as we are then we would know they really don’t exist…we could properly classify our problems into categories other than spiritual.

Does this seem a bit strange to you?  Did demon spirits just go away?  Did they ever really exist?  What do you do with the scriptural accounts of them and Jesus dealing directly with them?  How do we account for this?  Most choose to ignore it.  What about you?

What I know is, that if you don’t recognize this as Biblical truth you can’t deal with them as the source of many problems…I know that.

For as long as I have been a believer I have heard the same thing from teachers, preachers and counselors… “You need to read your Bible more.”  “You need to pray more.”  “You need to worship more often…”

Now these are wonderful things to do, all scripturally correct things to do…but it will not get rid of demons.  It may hold them down, keep them semi-inactive but it is not the way out of bondage!  Jesus clearly said to CAST them out.

Jesus cast them out, that’s what He did, that’s what He told us to do.  I find it very disturbing that Christian leadership chooses not to address this issue and that believers stay in a bondage because of ignorance.

A pastor told of three different ladies who had come to him for help.  One told of being tormented in the night sexually by evil spirits.  Another told of a frightening, tormenting presence in the room.  The other told of a heaviness on her chest and choking sensations as if she was being suffocated…the pastor knew that the standard answers would not help but did not know what else to do.  I don’t believe he’s the only pastor faced with these issues.  It seems the demons are turning up the heat, footholds have become strongholds and the Body of Christ is the target.  We have in many cases preached a lesser Jesus, a lesser gospel.  Preaching what is only sociably acceptable is preaching a lesser Jesus.

I have talked about this before and probably will again.  Truth sets people free!  Even if you don’t want to be free, truth liberates.  Truth frees absolutely and absolutely frees!

You don’t have to speak everything that is true, but everything you speak should be true!  Every believer deserves to experience full freedom through Christ.

Just for Jesus,

Don
